Mailchimp

With Mailchimp connected, the agent adds customers who say yes to your email list and can tell them whether they are subscribed.

Connect

Section titled “Connect”

With the sign-in button: click Continue to Mailchimp and allow access to your account on Mailchimp’s own screen.

With an API key:

  1. In Mailchimp, open Profile › Extras › API keys and create a key. It ends in your data centre, like -us21.
  2. In the console go to Settings → Integrations → Mailchimp and paste it under API key.

We ask Mailchimp whose account it is before saving.

Email list

Section titled “Email list”

After connecting, set up the Email list card:

  • List — the list the agent adds people to. With no list chosen, the agent cannot add anyone yet.
  • Ask them to confirm by email (double opt-in) — on by default. Mailchimp sends a confirmation email, and people join the list once they click it.
  • Tags — added to every contact the agent adds. Separate with commas.

Saved settings apply from the next message.

The agent adds someone only after they say yes in the chat. It does not change the status of someone already on the list — a person who unsubscribed stays unsubscribed.
