BigQuery
Connect BigQuery so an internal agent (for example in Slack) can answer questions from your company data. The connection is read-only by design.
Connect
Section titled “Connect”- In Google Cloud, go to IAM → Service accounts, create a service account and give it the BigQuery Data Viewer and BigQuery Job User roles.
- Under Keys, create a JSON key and download it.
- In Settings → Integrations → Google BigQuery, paste the whole file into Service account key (JSON) and list the Datasets the agent may browse (e.g.
analytics, sales).
We run a free dry-run before saving, so a key without access fails right away.
Safeguards
Section titled “Safeguards”- Only reading queries (
SELECT/WITH) are run. - Every query is dry-run first; a query that would scan too much is not run, and the agent is asked to narrow it.
- Results are trimmed to a sensible size.
- What the agent can read is decided by your own IAM roles; the dataset list decides what it is shown.
